Hampshire Carpet and Upholstery Care have invested heavily in getting educated and trained to reach higher Industry standards since Richard started his own business in 2014. Having several methods and equipment to offer a full range of upholstery cleaning solutions we can get the results desired whatever the situation. Richard advises “there are hundreds of upholstery fabrics with different make ups of fibres, meaning that each requires different cleaning method and/or chemicals. I test fabrics to know what I am dealing with and formulate a clean best suited to keep your investments in their best condition”. Hot Water Extraction via the ShearDry™ is our primary upholstery cleaning method. We also offer low moisture upholstery cleaning via the Von Schrader system, as well as dry solvent cleaning. A full survey is completed first, and a convenient time is agreed with you to carry out the clean, normally within a couple of weeks, sometimes sooner if necessary.

How we Clean your Sofa, Armchair and other Soft Furnishings using Hot Water Extraction ShearDry™ System:

Step 1: Pre-Inspection
To IICRC standards, our Technician will inspect Upholstery history, fibre type, shrinkage test and construction, as well as identifying soiling conditions and potential permanent stains.
Step 2: floor protection and Pre-vacuum
Dry soil is removed by a thorough vacuuming. Your floors are protected throughout
Step 3: Pre-spray and Pre-spot (if required)
A preconditioning agent is applied to break down soil and other spots for a more thorough cleaning.
Step 4: Extract and Rinse
Once the soil has been loosened, our Twin Vac, High Powered hot water extraction cleaning process will thoroughly flush your fabric with ShearDry™ technology. Pressure and heat are regulated to prevent the fabric from being over-wet.

Step 5: Post Spot Treatment (if required)
If any spots are not removed during the cleaning process, speciality spotting techniques are employed.
Step 6: Protection is added
A fluorocarbon, water or solvent based, stain and soil repellent that protects upholstery against oil and water based stains and repels dry soil thus improving the sofa /chair’s appearance after vacuuming.
Step 7: Post Groom
Your Upholstery is groomed with a professional groomer so that the pile of your fabric is standing tall when we leave. Post grooming helps the fabric pile dry faster and in the right position.
Step 8: Post Cleaning Inspection
Our technician will go through your Upholstery with you to point out the cleaning results and make sure that you are completely thrilled with the job. If you have any questions or concerns, please let our technician know during this time. We want to be sure that you are 100% satisfied before we leave.

How we Clean your Sofa, Armchair and other Soft Furnishings using Host Von Scharder Dry Foam System:

Hampshire Carpet and Upholstery Care specifically selected the Host Von Schrader® Esprit cleaning system being as it is an internationally renowned low moisture upholstery cleaning system.  Where suitable or specifically required this is our sister system to ShearDry as above. Having both systems allows us to clean a larger array of fabrics safely. The Von Schrader® low moisture Advanced Air Cell with Encapsulation Technology system, has only a 10% moisture content. This means there is no chance of over wetting your furnishings. The low moisture foam suspends soils and oils separated on your fabric by soft, gentle counter-rotating brushes. Dirt and foam are then removed by the powerful vacuum action.
